2015 has been a roller coaster year at Raw Dog Food HQ, in this post we’d like to share with you what’s been going on, and most importantly what you can expect to see in 2016.

Raw Dog Food Blog

Over the past year, we’ve seen over 115,000 visits to the website from pet parents all over the world, 126 countries to be precise. Our most popular blog post has been an interview with raw feeding vet, David Hopper and we still see it pop up from time to time on Facebook.

Around half way through the year, we teamed up with holistic vet, Nick Thompson to bring his Canine Nutrition seminar online and to a wider audience. More seminars are in the pipeline so keep your eyes peeled.

A recurring theme throughout 2015 was that we kept getting asked the same few questions over and over again, such as “how can I find a vet who supports raw feeding?” and “where can I find a supplier?”? Clearly a popular topic, we decided to put together a database to answer these questions, it didn’t take long until it quickly outgrew the blog and transformed into the Raw Feeding Directory.

Raw Feeding Directory

Born out of necessity, the Raw Feeding Directory is a collection of vets who advocate raw feeding, raw food suppliers, dog services, and breeders who all share the same passion for taking a natural approach when feeding their dogs. There were over 200 people/companies who signed up to the directory last year, and our aim is to continue the growth to better serve our audience over 2016.

Some big changes will be happening to the directory in Jan/Feb, keep updated here.

Natural Dog Conference

This was by far our biggest achievement last year, we wanted to do something which hadn’t been done before, and we’re pleased to say we pulled it off! We got together some of the world’s leading experts in natural dog care: Dr Karen Becker, Dr Jean Dodds, Rodney Habib, Dr Nick Thompson, Dr Sue Armstrong, Dr Isla Fishburn, Caroline Ingraham and Caroline Griffith to cover topics such as canine health and nutrition, vaccinations, toxicity, wolves, zoopharmacognosy, auto-immune disease and more.

The Natural Dog Conference was the first event of it’s kind in Europe, and it was incredibly exciting to see so many dog lovers getting together to share their knowledge and expertise.

The conference was filmed and is available to watch online on the Natural Dog Conference website.

The Raw Feeding Show Podcast

Having been in the pipeline for far too long, October marked the launch of The Raw Feeding Show, a video podcast where I’ll be extracting knowledge from as many dog professionals as I can.

Featured on the podcast already have been:

More will be coming soon, sign up here to keep informed of new interviews.

Natural Dog Facebook Group

If you’re on Facebook then make sure you join the Natural Dog Group. Created after the success of the Natural Dog Conference, this Facebook group gave people the opportunity to catch up with the friends they made, and continue their journey of natural canine care.

Raw Feeding Forum

This is something that didn’t work out so well in 2015. After putting the idea of a ‘raw feeding buddy’ out at a seminar, there was quite a lot of interest in pairing up with someone, be it old or new to raw feeding, so they could share experiences and ‘hand hold’ each other along the way.

To cater for this the Raw Feeding Forum was created. At first it was quite active however after a while it became difficult finding the time to upkeep the forum. This will sit on the back burner for the time being.

2016 and beyond

2016 is already shaping up to be quite an exciting year. Details will be revealed as and when they’re ready but you can look forward to:

  • More live events
  • More experts interviewed on The Raw Feeding Show Podcast
  • Lots more blog content than 2015
  • The ability to buy raw dog food through the website – contact us for more info
